969's final tape date for the season is mere days away at which point everyone is fired for 6 weeks and then probably hired back in September.

969 Wins Best Youth Programming Leo Award

The 9th Annual Leo Awards were handed out Friday and Saturday in Vancouver and 969 was selected the 2006-2007 Best Youth Program! Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of the show. Pictures from this evening will show themselves on this page as soon as they are attained. (They are here.)

Directing Nationally

We will begin floor-directing 969 starting today (Season 11, Episode 12) and are slated to continue doing so until the end of the season. The first episode will go to air on CityTV Thursday, May 17th.

Hi There Ray!

The first fully written & produced segment created by us for 969 will air on CityTV Friday the 16th at 10am, and will air six times nationally on Razer Monday the 19th. It is slotted into the first half of the show. The segment will also be uploaded to the 'Best of 969' streaming video page early next week.

We have been recently hired to join the television show 969 as a segment producer. A brief description about the show: 'From the CityTV building in Vancouver, British Columbia comes a lifestyle magazine show featuring a full hour of music, celebrities, athletes, the latest in youth fashion, and reviews of the hottest video games.'

Second DVD...Seriously

In Circumference DVD news: there is now a second release being created. The Crazy 8s, run by Andrew Williamson, had it's final year this year - pending someone volunteering to take over from him. As a final major act to close out his 8 years with his creation, a distribution deal has been reached for a DVD to be mass produced featuring hand-chosen films from the contest's duration. Circumference was chosen to be one of the few included.

Their DVD is being rapidly produced and executed in the next week or two to meet the distributor's deadlines and will be available in a retail outlet sometime soon.

For those who have purchased a DVD from us, fear not: this new DVD will have only the short film along with the other chosen shorts. Our DVD, as mentioned in previous posts, has considerable content included within in for, more than likely, half the price of this forthcoming Crazy 8s one.

Work Begins On Mark Geary's New Album 'Opium'

This is a bit of news that happened during the Circumference/Stalls/Sidewalk Film Festival trip, but in the coming weeks/months: we will be working with Mark Geary on his forthcoming third album providing piano, string arrangements etc. You are strongly encouraged to check out Mark and his work on his official website.

Lotus Awards Screening

The Lotus Awards were held last night at the Westin Bayshore Hotel and was hosted by Patrick McKenna. Representing Ace Film at the event were Keli Westgate, Allen Jones, and co-directors Zach Lipovsky and CJ Wallis. Photos from the event can be found here

Big House felt the story they wrote was a bit too vague now that they have seen it all together and in one piece - so in the interest of overall enjoyment, a bit of rearranging, editing and alternate things were requested. The film was cut by a minute and a bit. the existing score, which was timed to the previous edit, was hacked, cross faded and re-arranged from the existing files to try and best accommodate the new cut. The film will screen this Wednesday at the Westin Bayshore. Tickets can be purchased for alot of money here.
