we have vanished since november but with a mostly valid reason. filming has wrapped on our first documentary feature entitled "please subscribe" which follows 4 of the most popular and recognizable youtube personalities and explores how the viral videos made in their living rooms have affected their lives and the entertainment industry as a whole.
because the idea seemed good to myself and our friends at twisted twins productions, and it seemed like no one else had really jumped on it -- we stayed down and quietly shot for 3 months with david choi, daxflame, tayzonday and happyslip in vancouver and los angeles.
finally, we are far enough along in the completion of the first cut of the film that it seems like the time to let the cat out of the bag. we present the first look at our new feature:
despite the trailer being uploaded in the final days of january, our youtube channel won several weekly & monthly awards for being the top subscribed director in canada and reaching the top 50 most subscribed youtube wide.
until the release of the film, we will be releasing outtakes or various b-roll from the film on our channel that either were technically not good enough to be in the final cut or perhaps a moment we love but probably won't mesh into the final version.
the plan is to have the film finished by mid-month to catch a major upcoming march submission deadline. there are about 65 minutes of chunks cut at this point so all is currently well.
in music video news, we will be shooting a few of them in the coming month/s:
one for our own endeavor, one for sarah slean for a song called 'the rose,' a video for the 'please subscribe' dvd extras for david choi's 'youtube love song' and finally - an unknown single from the new and exciting solo project from fake shark-real zombie drummer malcolm holt!
wow. very exciting!
